The basics of Static vs Dynamic Website Design

Website designing is all about creating a good experience for the visitors and making them stay there a longer, which is only possible if a website is thoroughly appealing and catches the attention of the website visitors. A website includes a compilation of data, images, videos, and other types of files. In Wales, a good web designing company depends thoroughly on the knowledge of web designers to present this compilation of text, images, videos and files in a manner that is visually appealing and structurally functioning well. Also, a good website needs to be structured well to entice the search engines, so that they rank it higher on the search pages. However, search engines and human beings don’t have much in common, therefore, it is critical to understand the psyche of both sides and come up with a website which will integrate the requirement of both the parties.

Basically, there are two main types of website:

  • Static Website: A static website is built as a template that applies to each page and usually it is created in HTML and PHP. If you want to make any change in a static website, it will require a thorough knowledge of HTML or PHP, which means, you will have to get in touch with your web designing company. For example, if you want to change the navigation component or anything else that appears on each page of your site, you would have to change each page of the website. And making such changes takes time as well as cost involvement.
  • Dynamic Website:On the other hand a dynamic website is often built with a CMS or blogging platform such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and others. In last couple of years WordPress has become the leader in dynamic site platforms in the past couple of years. The best part about dynamic website is that the dynamic pages can change dynamically. Dynamic web designs changes information automatically if the information stored in the database changes. When a user wants to change some content or information in the website, all that needs to be updated in the website and it will display automatically in all the pages, without manually doing it as in the case of static web pages.

Whether your web design is static or dynamic, you have to remember the very purpose why you are having that website. A website success doesn’t only depends on the design, it also depends on your content, usability of the website, how text and images blends together to form a comprehensive and effective website.
